Answers for Pi:
To answer number five, no pi does not end. My source is my math text book.
The answer to number four is that since pi never ends (it's considered an irrational number) it's impossible to figure out.
Now time to answer number one. Pi was discovered a very very very very very VERY long time ago. It was in B.C times that the greeks got the theoretical calculation of pi. Archimedes was credited for this.
Archimedes was born around 287 B.C. He died around 212 B.C.
Pi Day is on March 14, at 1:59 pm. The date is March 14 because pi is 3.14 and the date is 3/14. March 14 is also Albert Einstein's birthday.
Pi can be used for any shape that does not have vertices such as an ovals, spheres, circles, and cylenders.
The symbol for pi was introduced by an english mathematition named William Jones in 1706. This symbol was adopted by Lenhord Euler ( a Swiss mathematition and physicist) and then became the pi symbol that we use today.
Pi is used to find the circumference of a circle. You do this by multiplying the diameter by 3.14 or 3. The equation would be dπ. If you only have the radius then the equation would be 2rπ.
William Jones was born in 1674.He died on July 3rd 1749.
Today  we use pi to find the circumfrence of a circle or any round object. Scientists use pi to find the circumference of a planet. The circumference of the Earth in kilometers is 40,075 km, and the circumference of the Earth in miles is 24,901. In other words, if you could drive your car around the equator of the Earth (yes, even over the oceans), you’d put on an extra 40,075 km on the odometer. It would take you almost 17 days driving at 100 km/hour, 24 hours a day to complete that journey.

A Chinese college student has set a new Guiness world record by reciting almost 68,000 digits of pi, or the ratio of the circumference to the diameter of a circle.

Lu Chao, a 24-year-old graduate student in Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University inShaanxi Province, took 24 hours and 4 minutes to recite to the 67,890th decimal place of pi without an error.

He achieved his feat on Nov. 19th last year but was only recently confirmed to be the new record holder by the Guiness headquarters in Britain.

You should add all of the numbers if it ever ends. Does it ever end?

How do you add the floating pi to your page?

Is there a reason why it's at 1:59 p.m.?

Dear J.,
Your research project is off to a good start. I like the fact that you used essential questions to focus your research. Make sure to mention how the number pi is useful to us today. Keep up the good work.
